More About This Website
Roaming the aisles of supermarkets and grocery stores, exploring the stalls at farmer's markets and wandering the floor of fruit stores and delis excites the hungry person that lives deep inside me.  Stores tell you a great deal about the neighbourhood you are in, the city you are visiting and the food habits of the people around you. This is a website mainly about fresh fruits and vegetables found and sold in Canada and those who sell them.

Organic sales bigger out West

According to a recent article in the May 19-25, issue 1021 of Business
in Vancouver (www.biv.com) Glen Krostrom wrote that the *Nielsen
Company*, Canadian showed certified organic food sales grew 28% to $412
million in 2006.

BC has 13% of Canada's population and 26% of Canadian certified organic
sales.

According to the *Organic Agriculture Centre of Canada*, the sales are
less than 1% of the $46.5 billion that Canadian spend annually on
groceries.
